Habitat:
Found in tropical and temperate waters, live close to the surface of
the ocean.
Distribution:
Western and eastern Atlantic Ocean, including Pacific Ocean
Bait:
Can be caught on live or dead bait. Feeds on mullet, bottom dwelling
fish and squid.
Fishing
Strategy:
As
soon as this shark
is hooked it will take the line and run at high speed. It has been
recorded that the Blacktip shark will leap into the air when hooked.
Tackle:
- 4 - 4.5 metre beach rod
- Heavy tackle is needed
- Steel trace
- Large hook of 10/0 or 12/0
