Habitat:
Found near beaches or in the surf zone. Some like to congregate is
shoals.
Distribution:
Found along the entire west coast.
Bait:
Will take any bait that it comes across. Natural diet is small fish,
crab and other crustaceans.
Fishing
Strategy:
This is an excellent sportfish and provides a challenge to land on
light tackle.
Tackle:
- 4 - 4.5 metre beach rod
- Heavy tackle is needed
- Steel trace
- Large hook of 10/0 or 12/0
