Fishing For Catfish
|
Catfish are
common species to the freshwater fishing community. There is an
abundance of catfish in many areas and they are a very hardy species
that can survive in harsh environments. Most catfish are nocturnal
feeders although they will eat during the day. Catfish have been known
to eat a wide variety of baits such as carrion, rats and mice, flying
ants and dead or alive fish. One of their favourite foods is
plantanas.
Catfish spawn in late spring in the north where the first rains cause
the fish to move upstream.
